Welcome to another edition of Indie Craft Attack!
This month's indie crafter, Melissa Dalton, comes to us from the Toronto based band folk quintet The Wilderness of Manitoba. If you haven't heard of The Wilderness of Manitoba before you should definitely check them out! Personally, I'm a huge fan of their tune Orono Park. Check out Southern Soul's beautiful video to see what I'm talking about!
Melissa has been touring around with The Wilderness of Manitoba for months now all across Canada and the Europe, so I'm very grateful that she found the time to do some crafting! Turns out Melissa is a very crafty lady herself. Ms. Dalton attended OCAD for jewelery design, and even took some textile courses where she learned about screen printing. This all leads into today's craft... which is Poor Man's Screen Printing!
I sat down with Melissa on a humid summer's day at the band's famous Delaware House in Toronto Ontario, to do some pretty interesting crafting! Melissa was very keen on teaching all of you how to make your very own "screen printed" t-shirts. So, if you're in a band, or perhaps you just love making your own clothes, this is a great craft for you!
Now, seeing as today's craft has to do with t-shirts, I don't see why we can't give one away! If you'd like to win yourself one of these homemade t-shirts that was made by myself and Melissa, than answer this!
What is the provincial bird of Manitoba?
If you know the answer email me at monica@indiecraftattack.com and you will be placed into a draw! The winner will be announced on Dec 8th, 2010!
Now, here's the episode! Enjoy!
