911 Mini-Indie Crafty Solutions! [Displaying Pins & Concerts Tickets]

Hey there Indie Crafters!

How's it going?

Well, I've been doing very well thanks! So well in fact, that I thought I'd start something called "911 Mini-Indie Crafty Solutions!". It's where I try to take any questions you may have about crafting, etc and provide you with solutions! Even better, if they are music related! Or perhaps you have an idea that you would like me to find a way of crafting up!

The very first 911 Mini-Indie Crafty Solution is for Michelle Edwards who twittered the Indie Craft Attack account (@indiecrftattack), saying

"I have 2 project ideas for you. 1) I have a lot of pins & need a good way to display them. 2) I also need a good way to display all my ticket stubs that I keep. Got any ideas??"

Well Michelle! I was trying to think of something, and thought of a solution for displaying your pins and ticket stubs! Maybe you'll want to give it a try?!
I have been wanting to try out a craft I found months ago at Design Sponge - cork containers. They provide a tutorial and everything! Anyway, when I was thinking of possible pin solutions I thought, why not pinning them on cork cotainers!

So, I pulled out an old tin I had lying around in my craft box, and some rolled cork (which you can find in craft stores, or fabric stores), and started crafting! I didn't spray paint the can like the instructions were suggesting. If you want it to look a certain way, then perhaps spray painting would be nice, but I didn't need it!

After it dried, I started pinning all the buttons I had lying around. I proceeded to pin on my music festival wristbands, and I'm sure you could get really creative and start pinning all your ticket stubs as well! Why not?!?

So here is what I came up with!

It's great for holding on to all the odds and ends on your desk! Perhaps you could even stuff it with more ticket stubs, etc! The possibilities are endless!

The other idea is that you can simply frame your pins and ticket stubs. I had a number of my pins framed. It is better to use a frame that is deep, similar to a shadow box, if not a shadow box itself.

Hope that helps Michelle!

Happy Crafting Everyone!

Monica

  1. What great ideas! I love the idea of making a jar covered in ticket stubs and wristbands, especially to hold tickets to upcoming concerts. I just might have to make myself one.

  2. Aw, thanks Monica! That's a neat idea. And I like Dawn's idea of using the jar to hold all my tickets to upcoming shows. Don't want to lose things as precious as those!

  3. This is such a cute idea! I love to all put my pins in a bowl on my bookshelf- I like being able to rummage through them and mix them up. My only problem now is I need a larger bowl!
